Thomas H. Jackson
In Memoriam
Thomas H. Jackson brought a wealth of intellectual property law experience to Shih IP Law Group, PLLC. Over more than twenty years in private practice, he represented domestic and foreign clients with skill and dedication across U.S. and international patent prosecution and litigation matters. Earlier in his distinguished career, Mr. Jackson served as in-house patent counsel at Siemens USA, AT&T, and Bell Telephone Laboratories — institutions that shaped the modern telecommunications era.
Mr. Jackson drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patents to issuance in the fields of electrical, electronic, and computer arts, with special concentrations in telecommunications and converging television technologies, as well as medical and optical devices. His mastery of these technical disciplines, combined with his legal acumen, made him an invaluable resource to clients navigating complex IP landscapes.
An experienced litigator, Mr. Jackson capably represented patent owners as both plaintiffs and defendants in patent cases, bringing to bear a rare combination of technical depth and courtroom tenacity.
Mr. Jackson was a co-author of Telecommunications Client Strategies, Thomson Reuters/Aspatore (2008), a work that reflected his deep command of the telecommunications field and his commitment to advancing the practice of law. He was fluent in both German and French — a gift that enriched his service to the firm’s international clientele and reflected the breadth of his intellectual curiosity.
